Mouse Sprite is a browser extension published by Tianyu Jiang. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data when you use it.

Data we collect

We collect nothing.

Mouse Sprite has no server of its own. No usage data, telemetry, crash reports, or personal information is transmitted to the publisher or any analytics provider.

Data you supply to the extension

When you use Mouse Sprite, the following information is stored only in your own browser via the standard chrome.storage APIs:

• Settings (chrome.storage.sync): your configured API base URL, API key, model name, temperature, max-tokens limit, stall-detection threshold, and language preference.
• Interaction history (chrome.storage.local): the text of questions you asked the sprite, any page context you selected, the AI responses returned, and timestamps.
• Tracked concepts (chrome.storage.local): the concepts identified by the AI in your questions and how often each has been asked.

This data never leaves your browser profile. Only you (and anyone with physical access to your browser profile) can see it.

Data sent to your chosen LLM provider

When you ask Mouse Sprite a question, your browser makes a direct HTTPS request to the LLM endpoint you configured (for example, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Ollama on localhost, etc.). That request contains:

• The text you selected or typed
• The surrounding page context (first ~2000 characters around your selection)
• A summary of your 5-10 most recent queries
• Your API key (to authenticate you to the endpoint)

This request goes directly from your browser to your provider — the extension publisher never sees it.
